London's biggest brewery to close
InBev have announced this morning the closure of the Stag Brewery in Mortlake, West London. It's part of a wider restructuring of their UK operations. At the moment, American Budweiser is produced at the massive riverside site. It used to be home to Watney's, the defunct London brewing company associated with the very worst keg bitter.

More Jobs doom! Good luck to the workforce.
They will have to redirect the local urinals too that were producing the Bud.
It's a sad day: the last big industrial brewery in London closing. Even if they did mostly brew crap, it's still sad. Who remembers Watney's Fined Bitter? That was brewed in Mortlake.
Why is it sad? By your own judgement they were industrial brewers of crap.
Good riddance.
You ever going to brew anything in your cellar, Jeffrey?
I seem to recall the Fined Bitter being brewed in Norwich. Then I remember (not too fondly) Stag Bitter being quite widely available in London. Perhaps it was the same stuff with the production switched to Mortlake.
